Diablo 3 butcher pet11/15/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() If the Avenger affix is the cause of the Giant Butcher, it also suggests something pretty amazing about how the enemy actually works. At least, that’s what the theory suggests. But with the already big Butcher, the effect is more noticeable. It is difficult to see this effect in action on the vast majority of enemies, which start small and increase in size by a tiny amount with each nearby kill. Perhaps Blizzard left this line out deliberately in order to surprise players and spark a bit of community fun. This text fails to mention also making enemies bigger, and yet this is what appears to be happening. The Avenger affix description text states killing a monster enrages monsters near it, making them deal more damage. The current theory puts the blame on a dungeon modifier (affix) appropriately called Avenger. I didn’t read the tutorials before running it (noob mistake!) so I completed (killed the dark lord) with my “regular” seasonal barb which is now way past Lvl 70, if I am to start with a new Seasonal/non-seasonal character and finish the game would I still be eligible to get the Butcher pet? Kinda wanted to give DH or Wizard (never played those before) a try and thought this could be a motivation but otherwise too lazy to start another one given S28 might be coming soon in Feb from what I understand. These player reports sparked some good old-fashioned theory-crafting from the Diablo 4 community. Have a few questions regarding The Darkening of Tristram event:Īs soon as I kill the Dark Lord and a short video clip is shown it means I have “completed” the event, is that correct? Also once complete I can not go back and find more monsters to kill (just like the GRs), unlike the NRs where even after I kill the monsters I can still go around and kill more even after slaying the guardian? ![]()
